Air quality levels remain in the YELLOW range for Saturday as east winds continue and highs push into the upper 80s. A compact low-pressure system is developing off the Georgia/SC coast and will begin to creep north by Sunday. The continued east winds will start to be cleaner as this low drifts into the southern part of the state and brings increased chances for showers and thunderstorms. This coastal low will throw a lot of cleaner, maritime air into the Triad and help improve AQI readings in the GREEN range through Monday. AQI levels could increase back into the lower YELLOW range Tuesday. (Bodenhamer)
